Some might say that this novel doesn't earn an A rating, because it is basically just mind candy. But it is so good at what it is, pure escapism, that I have to give it an A. No particular social relevance (I'm sure you could find some if you really needed to), no heavy themes, but it is great fun, and the writing creates very vivid imagery, without dragging on.
